It has been a great Me-Made May 2017 challenge. Thanks again to Zoe Edwards for organizing this. Here are my outfits for the last 2 days:
May 30:
I'm wearing a me-made lace dress, a me-made pearl necklace, a pair of thrifted red leather pumps and a thrifted blazer. I don't get a lot of special occasions to wear this lace dress so I'm trying to make it more casual looking with the blazer. But I think the necklace makes it formal again.
May 31:
I'm wearing a me-refashioned chiffon tunic (from a scarf), me-made stretch woven pants, a thrifted scarf and thrifted ankle boots.
So what I have learned from this challenge is that I still have loads of me-made clothes that I haven't worn for this challenge! Time to purge the closet!
I think you are right that the necklace dresses up the first outfit - maybe a longer necklace tied in a knot would be more casual? I find that taking a picture helps me see things I don't see in the mirror! lol That red dress is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou've had a very successful month, in my opinion!
Thanks Jenny! I do like that red lace dress but it's a bit too formal to wear anywear! I suppose I should have paired it with a denim jacket and boots to dress it down a bit.
DeleteI think it looks great with the blazer you wore, too - lace is definitely being worn now for everyday, so go for it however you can!
DeleteYou did so well doing this challenge - you looked good in all the posts. Somehow you seemed to have nailed a style that works for your life.
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's probably because I keep using the same tried and true patterns that I have tweaked for my body. But I'm itching to use some of the other uncut patterns in my stash!
