Refashion: Teal silk tunic

I love thrifting silk and cashmere at my local thrift stores. I thifted this XL Teal silk tunic a couple of years ago for a few dollars. The silk is not flimsy at all and the tunic is in a very good condition. I like the colour and the size - the larger the better for refashioning!
(Note: I'm actually wearing shorts in this picture :-)

I used a self drafted cap-sleeve tunic pattern to cut up this tunic. I shortened the length by about 3cm.  It was quick and easy to do. And now I have another silk tunic to wear in the summer, as well as for layering in the colder months.

  1. Firstly, that is gorgeous :). Secondly - you are lucky to be able to find such good materials in your thrift shops. I envy you :) (nicely) your luck. I hope it continues!

    1. Thanks Sarah Liz! This particular tunic was made years ago by a Canadian brand that doesn't exist anymore. The quality of material in my local thrift stores do vary a lot. They had better quality stuff 2 years ago than now. I do a short visit there about once a week to see what they have. Lately they have more and more of the ghastly and poorly constructed High Street brand clothing which I don't really like. Let's hope they will go back to the better quality, non-high street brand stuff soon!
